Today I unpacked all my kitchen stuff into our new kitchen then went grocery shopping with my housemate to stock up on the essentials. We came back late in the evening and famished and I set about making a curry. It was going really well until I tried to open a tin of tomatoes and discovered I’d lost a can opener in the move.

I knew my Swiss army knife was somewhere, in one of my boxes… But before I’d found it my housemate had forced the tin open with a hardy pair of scissors. Dinner was saved and we dined on the floor as the table had not yet been brought over.

What’s the first thing you discover that you forget when moving? A can opener? A toaster? A broom? A door mat? (Yes, all of those are ours from this move!)
